Wildcat Weekly

October 30, 2026
Dear Valley Oak Community,

Beginning Monday, November 2, our after-school supervision location on the corner of the drive-through parking lot and Sherman Street will be moved to the crosswalk on Sherman Street.

To help ensure student safety, we ask that families use the pull-through drive-up pick-up area, where staff members are on duty and actively monitoring students during dismissal.

For safety reasons, students should not walk out to Sherman Street to be picked up by parents or guardians. Using the designated pick-up area allows us to better supervise students and maintain a safe dismissal process for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our students safe.

With Wildcat Pride,
Aman Athwal

Each year, our students are taught grade level digital citizenship lessons at the beginning of the year. It is imperative that our children learn at a young age how to be responsible while online. Many children are on devices at a much earlier age and may not be equipped with the necessary tools to understand all that they need to remain safe. Please look at the enclosed tips for establishing healthy boundaries regarding electronics.
There are many different topics that have articles on how to deal with certain situations your children may accidentally stumble upon while on the internet. Even with the best parental controls, your children may be exposed to things outside of your control. One of the helpful websites we use is https://www.commonsensemedia.org/articles. Please see the flyer below for more information as well.
Thank you for being a partner in your child’s education.
