Dear Valley Oak Families,

What a fantastic first week of school it has been! Our students jumped right in, learning classroom routines and schoolwide expectations, while also taking time to get to know one another and build positive relationships with their teachers and classmates. The joy and excitement in the hallways and classrooms have set a wonderful tone for the year ahead, and we are so proud of how quickly our students are settling in and showing kindness, respect, and a willingness to learn. As we move forward, we look forward to partnering with you to continue supporting our students in building strong habits, positive relationships, and a love for learning throughout the year.

The Wildcat WAY

This week, our students have been learning about the Wildcat WAY—Wildcats are respectful, Act responsibly, and that Your choices matter. They’ve been learning and practicing these expectations across the school, and we are proud of their great start! Throughout the year, students will also have the opportunity to earn incentives for showing the Wildcat WAY.

Incident Reporting

We are also teaching students the importance of reporting incidents directly to staff members when they occur, so that concerns can be addressed right away. Prompt reporting allows us to respond quickly, support students effectively, and maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone. You are always welcome to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any concerns. Together, we can ensure that all students feel secure and supported at school.

Fall Athletics

Fall athletics are in full swing. Practices are held after school from 2:45-3:45 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (when there are no games). Games are typically held on Friday afternoons.

Students should be in appropriate attire for practice and have water as practices this week have been extremely hot!

AM/PM Pick Up Parking

We kindly ask that families leave the handicap parking spots available for those with the proper permits. In doing so, we will help ensure those spots remain available for people who need them. Thank you!

Clovis West Pancake Run

The Clovis West Pancake Run on Saturday, August 23rd—fun races start at 7:15 am followed by a pancake breakfast! 🍴🏃

Expanded Learning Club

Students that are attending afterschool ELC in grades 1-6 will meet in the MPR for attendance and snack this school year. All students attending ELC should check in before reporting to co-curricular practices.
