Wildcat Weekly

September 11, 2026
Dear Wildcats,

We are excited to kick off our annual Jog-a-thon. This is our biggest student body fundraiser of the year, and all money will go directly back to students!
One of our biggest goals this year is to use the funds raised to cover the cost of incentive trips for students. Funds will also support student uniforms, clubs, student prizes, recess equipment, student awards, and other opportunities and resources for our students.
This year, we are using a new online system to track donations, but we will still gladly accept cash and check donations. Valley Oak gets to keep 100% of all cash and check donations, making these contributions especially valuable to our school!
Please take a moment to review the link attached below, which provides step-by-step information on the online registration and donation process for parents and students. https://www.parentsquare.com/feeds/87781776
We are off to an incredible start—we have already raised almost $2,000 in less than 24 hours! Our goal is $30,000, but we would love to exceed that goal and provide even more for our students.
Let's show our Wildcats some love, get moving, and make this year's Jog-a-thon our best one yet!

With Wildcat Pride,
Aman Athwal
Principal

Calling All Community Heroes!

Our annual Jog-a-Thon is Wednesday, September 30th, and this year’s theme is “The Hero Run!” We will be encouraging students to wear red white and blue for the run. Jog-a-thon information will be officially sent out on September 16th.
We’ve already had several families reach out with connections to local community heroes, and we’d love to continue building on that! We are inviting firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, utility workers, medical professionals, and other community heroes to join us by bringing a vehicle or setting up a display/booth for students. If you or someone you know would like to participate, please reply to this announcement or contact Mr. Swain at ryanmichaelswain@cusd.com with your name, profession, and vehicle/display details. Thank you for helping us inspire our Wildcats and make this year’s Hero Run a huge success!

VOPC Corner

We are excited to share that our Valley Oak Parent Club (VOPC) Membership Drive is happening now through Friday, September 18!

VOPC is made up of our hard-working parents and teachers who generously pool their time, talents, and resources to provide practical support for our school. From supporting on-campus field trips and student experiences to providing athletic uniforms and equipment, recess equipment, teacher classroom wish-list items, and so much more, VOPC helps make a difference for our Wildcats both inside and outside the classroom!

We are so grateful for the incredible partnership between our families and school. Every membership helps support our students and makes Valley Oak an even better place to learn and grow. Please check the flyer sent home with your child today for more information on VOPC Membership!
